So as you can see, this device is one amazing piece of equipment, but you may be asking yourself, "What is it used for?" or why is it so amazing? Well, its not just the experience of meditation and journey you take when using this mind machine that's so incredible -- what's truly amazing is the way it teaches you to access powerful parts of your mind, and opens the doors to new ways of using your brain! 

Way back in 1997 when "Mind Place", the company that makes these devices, first came out with the light & sound machine, it was called the "Orion" and it looked exactly the same as the photos of this Procyon, but was limited in what it could do. The glasses only one single color LED, although it had 4 LEDs bulbs on each side, it couldn't control each bulb individually, only one side or the other (right and left to match the right and left stereo earphones). But it could still connect to a CD player and decode the hi-frequency sounds to make the lights flash in a programmed way during the meditation music that came with the device. And it had 22 pre-programmed sessions, but it just didn't compare to what the Procyon can do. I always wished the Orion had 3 different channels for 3 different colored LED lights, so you could create millions of colors, but that technology didn't even exist yet in 1997. Using 3 colors of LED light to produce millions of colors is a technology that was only invented relatively recently, although the concept was there for decades, but nobody could figure out how to program it with enough precision.

The Orion opened me up to a world deep inside my mind that I never knew existed, and without it, I probably never would have made all the progress I have with meditation. But the Orion got boring pretty quickly because it just didn't have all the features I wished it did. But the Procyon has alll the features you could ever want and more! It uses a CPU processor 4 times faster than the Orion, which is why it can do so much more! "AudioStrobe" Music

Audio Strobe is the name for the patented technology used in the MindPlace light & sound units to decode high frequency messages in special CDs. The code enables the musician to program the frequency at which the lights flicker during the music, so they can control your brain waves as the music rises to exciting stages, then goes back down to relaxing an calm experiences. But unfortuately the Procyon is capable of displaying millions of different color and pattern combinations and the Audio Stobe technology was invented back in the mid 90s long before any light & sound unit had multiple colors. So when using these CDs with the Procyon, it adjusts the color to the warm glow of simulated sunlight. The Procyon has another technology programmed in it called SynchroMuse but so far there haven't been any CDs made that incorporate that technology. I offered to make some of my own music with the SynchroMuse encoding but the MindPlace complany denied my request, which makes no sense at all. I guess I need to find the makers of the SynchroMuse technology and buy the software from them dirrectly, just like how the AudioStrobe software works.

Below are the current limited selection of AudioStrobe encoded music CDs available for use with the Procyon and other light & sound machines, which hasn't changed for nearly 20 years now because the AudioStrobe encoding software costs a fortune. It's really a shame because by now there should have been hundreds of audio CDs utlizing the AudioStrobe technology, but the owners of the technology make the software way too expensive.
